Precise position detection in machines

New! ifm’s new inductive proximity switches with IO-Link interface integrate numerous functions. They can be used as switching sensors with adjustable switch points or target windows.

The output signal can be set to normally open or normally closed, as well as PNP or NPN switch. IO-Link also supports programming output on-delays and off-delays. Furthermore, these inductive proximity switches can be used as a measurement system, transmitting the target distance value digitally via IO-Link.

High precision

ifm’s IO-Link inductive proximity switches can precisely detect minute changes in the target’s position. Even spindle run-out or the tension of circular or band saw blades can be reliably detected.

Alarms can be set for when the target leaves the target window or gets too close to the sensing face. All collected data can be transmitted and recorded via IO-Link.

IO-Link is a cornerstone of Industry 4.0, supporting more precise detection of targets with higher accuracy and maximizing overall equipment efficiency.
