Applications for Analog Signal Proximity Switches

Analog signal proximity switches can address a wide range of application needs:

  • Convert Linear Motion to an Analog Signal: Using an analog input card, you can continuously monitor the distance between the proximity switch and the target. Multiple switching points can be programmed if needed.
  • Classify Products by Material: Different materials have different correction factor curves (the relationship between output and detection distance). If the detection distance is constant, targets made of different materials will produce different outputs, allowing for differentiation.
  • Classify Products by Height: Targets made of the same material but having different heights or thicknesses can be easily distinguished.
  • Monitor Concentricity: An analog proximity switch can determine if a rotating object is off-center.
