PV digital pressure sensor – one sensor, two solutions

The all-new PV pressure sensor features a thin-film stainless steel measuring cell with an integrated, welded process connection. This allows for an all-stainless steel construction, eliminating the need for elastomeric seals. This design also gives the sensor a compact external shape, high precision, and fast dynamic response (<3ms), with excellent vibration resistance and IP67 / IP69K protection ratings, making it suitable for harsh environments. The pressure sensor also uses laser etching for its labels to prevent them from detaching or being damaged over time.

Suitable for hydraulic and inert gas applications

Due to the absence of elastomeric seals within the process connection, the PV becomes an ideal choice for hydraulic and gas applications with no restrictions on use. The all-stainless steel welded parts avoid the chemical compatibility issues found in traditional elastomeric seals and can provide high resistance to overpressure and burst pressure.

The integrated IO-Link communication can send process values via a high-precision digital signal (measurement results are in bar units, not mA). Purely digital communication avoids the effects of A/D conversion and electronic noise. The IO-Link interface can also be used to configure sensor parameters and send diagnostic information, such as peak pressure counts.
