Vortex Flow Sensor for Water-Based Media Applications

New Product! The ifm SV series immersion vortex flow sensor is specially designed for monitoring the flow and temperature of circulating water in industrial applications.

This flow sensor’s housing is made of durable solid metal and is based on the vortex flow measurement principle. According to the flow velocity, the medium forms vortices on a bluff body (or shedder) integrated into the measuring tube. A piezoceramic element detects these vortices. Since the cross-section of the pipe is known, the vortex parameters can be used to determine the flow rate, unaffected by pressure and temperature fluctuations of the medium. Vortex technology enables a simple sensor design that can be easily manufactured.

At-a-glance Display and Installation Completed in Minutes

The flow sensor is equipped with a high-contrast customizable TFT LCD display. Setpoints can be easily established through the button menu using scroll and enter keys. The flow sensor can be programmed to provide a switching output (flow and/or temperature), a flow frequency output, or an analog output (flow or temperature).
